Active Killer Response

This is a unique collaboration class with a good friend and long time LE/SWAT officer friend of mine.

Day 1 will be a High Performance Rifle & Handgun class centered on solid shooting mechanics, aggressive short movement skills, and high level gun-handling that will demand extremely high levels of speed, accuracy and aggression; all the hard skill components necessary to operate successfully in fast, chaotic, dangerous environments where the Patrol Officer and SWAT Officer alike will be expected to perform at peak level in response to an Active Killer.

Day 2:

The Tactics Portion of this Dynamic Course will train officers to go beyond basics of everyday clearing techniques, utilizing a system that will maximize their ability to ambush suspects from positions of advantage as well as knowing when to risk some exposure in exchange exchange for speed and aggressiveness. 

Concepts will center around identifying temporary fighting positions in a variety of environments to include:

  • Threat ID and Discrimination

  • Aggressive 90 degree snap outs from cover 

  •  Individual and Two man bounding tactics Room Combat Corner attacks

  • Two man open air and Internal room vectoring 

  • Engaging from multiple platforms/ positions with both weapon systems

  • "In Extremis” Solo Officer Room Engagement/Entry

  • Two man coordinated immediate entry tactics while still using a Behavior-based CQB approach and Limited Penetration principles.

Final exercises will include Force on Force Scenarios for Proof of Concepts under Simulation and Stress.

Standard Equipment Requirements:

Your Weapon/Sling/Holster/Associated Equipment
*Minimum of 4 Magazines
*Ear and Eye Protection
*Ammunition-400 rounds Rifle, 400 rounds Pistol

Compensators: If you use a large and disruptive compensator or muzzle break, you may be asked to use another rifle or to excuse yourself. I will typically have a spare rifle at classes.

Simunition/UTM:

If you have your own Sim guns and/or PPE, please feel free to bring and use it.

Prerequisites:

*A rifle/handgun Zeroed and in Working Condition

*An Established Understanding of Weapons Handling
